Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade What to expect
The decorating facility As a volunteer decorator, you will be working in a gigantic circus-size tent in the parking lot of the Rose Bowl Arena. The tent is well lit, and completely surrounded by a security fence. The tent offers protection from rain, but is open at the end and is not heated. When you arrive When you arrive at the tent, you will pass through a security check point. We share the tent with other float builders, and the attendants at the gate are not affiliated with Studio Concepts and will not have a list of our registered volunteers. To get through you will need a "GATE PASS", which you can download later in this registration process. Once inside the fence, you will be directed to the Studio Concepts area, where you will sign in and be given your first task as a float decorator. Clothing It is often cooler inside the tent than outside, so please come prepared with warm clothes. As a volunteer decorator, you will work with adhesives, wet floral materials, and occasionally paint. You may also be climbing around on dirty scaffolding and ladders. Please wear clothes which can get dirty and possibly damaged. Food There is no food available for purchase in the tent. Please bring whatever food you think you'll want. There are restaurants a short drive away, but nothing within easy walking distance. Where we are The decorating tent is located in the Rose Bowl parking lot. The address is: 1001 Rose Bowl Drive |
