J.D. Perkin

Props Department Supervisor

Until recently, J.D. was the Shop Manager at Studio Concepts. In 2005 he decided to step out of that demanding role to allow himself to give more attention to his successful art career.
During his time as Shop Manager, J.D. managed the construction operations at Studio Concepts, and was the lead scenic painter on several shows, including James and the Giant Peach, and Anne of Green Gables. Outside of Studio Concepts, J.D. is a prolific sculptor and painter, whose work can be seen at the Laura Russo Gallery and at many other locations around Portland. He is a founding member of the performance group Urban Artworkers, and has designed sets for Sue Brantly's Choreography Showcase, and The Company We Keep at Portland State University. J.D. has a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology and Sculpture from Portland State University.
